Re: The Stormboyz have dropped in!
Just the simple way. I put liquid glue (I never know the proper name) on the base. Made a nice thick and even layer. I then buried it in small pebbles I got from my yard on that gravelly area. (I sifted through the larger rocks, just did the tiny stuff with some dusty dirt.
After that was dry I painted a light grey on it. I did I thick coat so that it helps to keep the rocks in place as I am paranoid of that stuff just falling off.
Of course as it turns out I could have skipped that step. I drybrushed on some blue colour (I didn't want standard brown, just some alien world blue rock)
I then realized I should have reversed the colours, so I drybrushed on some of that grey colour.
Of course in the future I will simply put on the thick coat of the darker colour, AND THEN do the lighter colour drybrush.
I don't normally base my models 'cause there are like more than 90 regular dudes that aren't even that good of a paint job. But with the Stormboyz, they already came with a bit of scenery on them, so I know I HAD to do them for sure. Not sure if I'll do too much more of this basing business....
