Polar Apocalypse
Lets get the teams figured out.
First of all, to get the ball rolling I decree the game be 10,000 points per side. Yes you read correct, 10,000 points.
Team 1:
North Pole:
Calvin(Orks) - 3,000*
South Pole:
Team 2:
North Pole:
South Pole:
*That number is just an approximation, I really want counted up armies though.
There, we are getting started. We need to really figure out a way to assemble the teams. Please suggest some teams mainly fluff wise. We also need confirmation on the players. Who is likely to come and what army and such.

Re: Polar Apocalypse
So ya, what I mean by "fluff wise" I mean some one suggest something like, "Hey, my Space Marines are trying to activate the switch on the south pole, how about they join up with the Eldar who are going to also want to ensure it gets activated. also, maybe the SM's Imperial Guard buddies have decided to take their force to the north pole! That way we can activate both switches and secure victory!"
Or like "The Dark Eldar want to control this planet sized teleport device as well, but want it to themselves. They need some muscle so they some how acquire control over a small splinter fleet of Hive Fleet Typhon. But the Tyranid force has also actually been psychically manipulating a group of Orks in the area, so the Orks are compelled to capture the north pole and then give up the planet's hidden powers to the "Four-Armed Gork" for a sweet reward."
You know, that type stuff. Armies can be there to stop anyone at all from activating the switches as well. Or they are there to stop a specific other army. Like GK vs Daemons and all that good stuff. Maybe some have been allied with others for a while still, and are just following more orders. Perhaps they are there not to activate, nor to stop it from being activated, but just to observe it.
I came up with all that off the top of my head, so it shouldn't be too hard to just think of simple yet fluffy things like that.
Also I still don't know exactly who and how many are coming. Nathan might. Even Dylan might. Just remember I want to get 10,000 points per side, so we would need armies all together being 20,000 points.

Re: Polar Apocalypse
I seeeeeeeeeee well we'll just say that this planet radiates warp energy similar to that of the consciousness of the emperor, my bugs are simply attracted to this planet like moths to a lightbulb. I do like the idea of orks being slightly influenced by the hive mind.

Re: Polar Apocalypse
You know Reuben, thats not a bad idea. Lets randomize, then just for fun throw in some simple reasons why the teams are the way they are.
Thanks for pushing it. We will still need to have other people post they're final points. But I guess I can at least set the teams up partially, then reorganize them to even out the points better.
I'll modify the player list so I don't have to decide who is on what table just yet.
Team 1:
Calvin(Orks) - 4,372
Henry(Tyranids) - 4,063
Reuben(CSM) - 2,934
TOTAL - _____
Team 2:
Ian(IG) - ?,???
Nathan(Blood Angels) - 3,994
TOTAL - _____

Re: Polar Apocalypse
First off: Colten! What armies are you going to use, and what ones are you going to loan out to the other side? I say this because It wont be fun if u are playing both as Demons and Eldar. Just doesn't work. Also tell me the points of all that stuff.
Also, I'd like some advice. Should we up it to more than 10,000 per side? there ARE two tables, and team one with only 3 people already have over 11,000. Soooooo.... assuming we can find more points to add to the game, I suggest we make it like 12,000 points per side. Can we do that!?!?

Re: Polar Apocalypse
Its not too important, but I would like and exact number of points.
2 things come up.
A. We would need to try to make each board as even as possible. It wont be perfect, but I sure hope we can get it close.
B. When units get teleported they go under control of the allies on the other table. The hard part is the people now in control of the units may not know how to play that army. Like, there could be certain special rules and wargear. The game will slow down as people have to ask "So what do these guys do?" and all that.
Team 1:
Calvin(Orks) - 4,372
Henry(Tyranids) - 4,063
Reuben(CSM) - 2,954
TOTAL - _____
Team 2:
Ian(IG) - 3,017
Dylan(GK) - ?,???
Nathan(Blood Angels) - 3,994
TOTAL - _____

Re: Polar Apocalypse
I think Dylan can get near 3,000 points. If Colten's SMs and Eldar can add up to around 2,000 it would work out awesome! Team 2 would be at pretty much 12k, so we would just need like less than 1k for Team 1.
We totally got this!

just to check are those the actual teams we will be playing with, or are we going to randomize just before the start of the game?

Re: Polar Apocalypse
We are not going to randomize before the start of the game. Those are the teams so far. Changes may be made to them to balance the points if it comes to that.

Ya thanks Ian. Now we know EXACT! And ya, still counting on both Colten and Robbie. Hopefully they can play this, but if not I hope they tell me so I can set the game up knowing that they aren't coming.
