York road Game night.

So there is no game this saterday due to christmas eve but there is a game friday. However I wanted to ask about NEXT weekend. Next sat happens to fall upon new years eve and I dont know if people will want to ring in the new year by playing warhammer so I could have a nother friday night game. So the question is when you want to have our new years party?

Overall I think that was a GREAT GREAT GREAT fantacy game. Even with the 40k ranks and the paper movement trays it all came together very well. WE MUST PLAY MORE MORE MORE. We go bigger and bigger subbing but we should also try out new tactics and stuff.

Next game night is on friday... But we will need to play some 40k still cuss I am getting a shite load of 40k. How about alternating nights ore something like that. I know fantacy is the hot new thing but I now have

10 trueborn
10 scorges
3 reavers
1 raider
2 venoms
2 ravagers
1 razorwing.

Must build and play asap.

OK people games resume on normal dates and time.

There has been interest in fantasy so we will probably have a game of fantasy as well as 40k. I enough people show for fantasy we can do two games instead of one huge one. we will see. If you could please write down some rules for your guys. Its easier to learn if we can see the rules your using.
I will look for the relevant books but I may not be able to find them all.

Last game we figured what game should be played first but I forget?

me and jess cant go this weekend on account of shortage of gas and abit of engine troubles

So the plan is to have a round of 1500 40k games and then whoever wants to play fantacy can split into two groups and play some fantacy. Can people feild larger armys now or are we still at 500?

me and jess will be going tommorrow i have 1530 of 40k and a little over a 1000 for fantasy, jess will need a army to practice with if anybody could spare one to use

I has blood angels for 40k and you can use 40k for fantasy as only a few of us have fantasy models.

Rules I just learned:
minimum army requirements are 1 character & 3 non character units.
Under 2000 you are allowed no lords.

Perhaps that will make out games a little more even for the time being.

Tomorrow 40k is at 1500 and fantasy is at 1000.
Mssge if you cannot do this for some reason and we can adapt.

I don't recall hearing any rule about no lords under 2,000 points, but it may be a good house rule. In a 2,000 point game, you can have up to 500 points worth of lords, which means someone would still be able to fit in some nasty speacial character if they were feeling evil.

So ya, as we are just getting into the game, for games that size it would be a good choice to simply say "no Lords" as (at least I think) most armies have Hero equivilants of Lords. Like goblin/Orc Bosses and Big Bosses, or Vampires and Vampire Lords. This way there isn't too much craziness until we are willing to throw down with larger games where a 300 point Lord might even get eclipsed by hordes upon hordes of troops and several monsterous creatures and such.

I agree with the bottom statement there. For sure.

But 8th edition army selection rules override the army book ones. It says so on page 134.

Well it was a good night even with the toss up. I did well with my new dark eldar force... But then I was CRUSHED by the Dwarfs and Bretonians.

For a muinit I was worryed but then I re-read the army book and found out what I was doing wrong. I Have Uber powerfull units, non of witch i was using.... not next game. .
